Flat bar is hot-rolled rectangular mild steel to AS/NZS 3679.1, used for straps, plates, gussets and bracketry across the Gold Coast.

Flat bar is the all-purpose strap stock. Need a gusset, a strap, a backing plate, a hinge tail, a blade for a scraper, a tie for a bit of carpentry? Flat bar covers it.
We carry the popular widths in a range of thicknesses, so you can match the bar to the job — light 20×3 for hold-downs and brackets, heavy 100×10 or 100×12 for serious structural straps and base plates.
Flat bar drops are also a stalwart of the off-cut bin — if you only want a short piece, have a rummage before you order a full length.

How we finish it.
Standard supply is black hot-rolled. Bright (cold-rolled) flat is available for jobs that need a cleaner finish or tighter tolerances — ask when you order.

- What grade is your flat bar?
- Standard mild steel flat is Grade 250 or 300 to AS/NZS 3679.1. Easy to weld, drill, bend and cut.
- Can you cut flat bar to length?
- Yes — bandsaw cuts on request. Send a cut list and we'll have it ready.
- Do you stock bright flat?
- Cold-rolled bright flat is available to order for jobs that need tighter tolerances or a cleaner mill finish. Tell us the spec and we'll quote it.
- What's the longest flat bar I can pick up?
- Standard length is 6.0m. Anything longer comes in on special order. The 6.0m bars fit on the crane truck or a long ute easily.
- Do you deliver flat bar across the Gold Coast?
- Yes — Gold Coast, Tweed Heads and Northern NSW delivery. Flat bar bundles up cleanly for the tray truck.
- What's the longest flat bar you can supply?
- Standard length is 6.0m. Longer specials available on order.
- Can you fabricate from flat bar?
- Yes — bandsaw cuts, drilling, plasma cuts and folding are part of the fab shop service. Send a sketch and we'll quote.
