RHS is SHS's tall cousin — rectangular tube that's stiff one way and slim the other. That makes it perfect for jobs where you need a beam to carry a load but don't want a chunky face on show: door lintels, gate rails, trailer chassis rails, headers over open spans.
We carry the popular Aussie sizes in black mild steel and galvanised. The thin sections (50×25, 75×50) get used by fencers and trailer builders every day; the deeper sections (150×100, 200×100) end up in patio beams and small commercial work.

Finishes
How we finish it.
Black is the standard for paint or powder coat. Hot-dip galv is the call for anything that sees weather, salt or ground contact. DuraGal suits jobs that need a tidy off-the-shelf finish.

FAQ
Common questions on RHS.
- What's the difference between SHS and RHS?
- SHS is square and equally strong both ways. RHS is rectangular — much stiffer on the long axis, which makes it the right pick for beams and lintels where the load runs one direction.
- Do you stock galvanised RHS?
- Yes — DuraGal in the common fence and trailer sizes, and we arrange hot-dip galv for fabricated jobs.
- Can you weld galvanised RHS?
- Yes, but the zinc fumes are nasty — use ventilation and a fume mask. Touch up welds with cold-galv paint afterwards, or send the whole job for hot-dip after welding.
- What length does RHS come in?
- 8.0m across most sizes off the rack — the exception is 50×20, which comes in 6.5m. We cut to length on request, so if the job wants 3.6m we'll trim it before you load up.
- Do you deliver RHS to the Gold Coast, Tweed Heads and Northern NSW?
- Yes — daily runs across the Gold Coast, Tweed Heads and Northern NSW. Tell us the address and we'll quote freight with the bar.
- What's the longest RHS you can supply?
- Standard rack length is 7.5m. Longer mill lengths to 12m are special order — let us know the size and we'll come back with timing.
- Can you fabricate from RHS?
- Yes — RHS is one of the most common sections through the fab shop. Lintels, gate frames, chassis rails — send a drawing and we'll quote.
- How much does RHS cost?
- Price depends on size, wall thickness, finish and length. Send a list and we'll quote same day.
